2025 Elections

 

NJASP is looking for members interested in running for President-Elect, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Regional Delegates!

Becoming a member of the NJASP board is a great way to expand your practice and resume, get involved in public policy, and gain leadership skills.  NJASP board members represent NJASP at local, state, and national functions.  They have opportunities to develop policy for NJASP and influence change at the state level.  NJASP board members are frequently invited to participate on NJDOE committees and serve as a liaison to other state association.  Consider joining the NJASP board and expand your professional network.  


To be considered for an NJASP Executive Board Position, one must be a current NJASP member in good standing. Voting will be done electronically via Google Form that will be e-mailed to the NJASP membership after the March executive board meeting.

President-Elect:

Term: 1 year

Duties: The NJASP President-Elect shall serve for one year, then succeed to the office of President to serve for one year before succeeding to the office of Past-President for one year. The NJASP President-Elect shall assist the President in planning and calling all meetings and other duties. Shall conduct meetings in the absence of the President. 

Treasurer:

Term: 2 years

Duties: The NJASP treasurer shall be responsible for keeping and recording all monies and expenditures and/or disbursement of monies. Shall submit a report including balance, bills outstanding, receipts anticipated and details of disbursement at each Board and Business meeting. 

Recording Secretary:

Term: 1 year

Duties: The NJASP recording secretary shall notify Executive Board members of the next meeting by either mail or e-mail; record the minutes of each Executive Board and Business meeting so as to accurately reflect the full meaning and intent, if not verbatim, of discussions, decisions and actions; distribute the minutes of each meeting at least one week prior to the next meeting to Executive Board members by either mail or e-mail; submit the minutes for adoption by the Executive Board meeting and make connections as needed; maintain a minutes' book covering at least twelve months and bring it to all meetings. 

Regional Delegates (Northern, Central, and Southern-one of each):

Northern Region includes the following counties: Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Warren, Morris, Essex, and Hudson.

Central Region includes the following counties: Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, and Union. 

Southern Region includes the following counties: Burlington, Ocean, Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic, Salem, Cumberland, and Cape May. 

Term: 2 years

Duties: The NJASP Regional Delegates shall serve on at least one committee of the Association as designated by the President with the approval of the majority of the remaining members of the Executive Board; be responsible to facilitate at least one annual major workshop in their region for NJASP members; develop a method of communication with members in their region and maintain ongoing dialogue; develop and facilitate other activities to enhance NJASP membership involvement in regional areas.
