Professional Development Workshop Series Presents:

Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk:

Infusing SEL Into Everyday Practice

Presented by Erin Bruno

This interactive workshop explores how social-emotional learning can move beyond a standalone lesson or curriculum and become part of everyday practice. Participants will strengthen their understanding of SEL’s relationship to behavior, mental health, and student success; identify the skills underlying student behavior; and apply practical strategies within their existing roles. The session also highlights adult SEL, encouraging educators to model the competencies they seek to develop in students

Objectives:

  1. Explain the core components of social-emotional learning (SEL) and their connection to student behavior, mental health, and overall well-being.
  2. Identify the social-emotional skills underlying student behavior and apply practical SEL strategies that build skills rather than simply manage behavior.
  3. Create supportive spaces and model SEL practices that foster safety, connection, and belonging, while helping educators integrate SEL into everyday interactions with students.
