Promoting Academic Resilience for Students with Borderline Intellectual Functioning: Academic and Meta-academic Interventions

Goals for this workshop include: improved understanding of the learning and behavioral characteristics of students at risk for school failure; to apply the framework for academic instruction of at risk students; to review and discuss the meta-academic model of non-cognitive skills for school success; to present the consultation, entry, and implementation of the meta-academic model; to discuss the effectiveness of these programs in promoting school success; to report on application of the meta-academic model in test score improvement, dropout prevention, attendance, and school functioning.
